Artist Bio:

Veronica Hernandez is a photographer and artist born in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently attending ASU and is enrolled in the BFA Digital Photography program. Two of her photos have been featured on the AZCentral website and Facebook page. Over twenty five of her photos have also been featured on various Instagram Pages featuring landscape and nature. In her spare time Veronica enjoys hiking and exploring outdoors.

Artist Statement:

My artwork and photography is about the relationship between people and nature and our impact on nature. It is also about familial relationships stretching from the past to the present. More recently I have been documenting and tracing my own ancestors’ paths across Arizona and the final resting place of those ancestors. It is a reflection of what was and what remains. This work will be something I plan to explore long term over the coming years.

I am a native of Baltimore, Maryland. I relocated to Arizona in 1993 and have lived here since then. It wasn’t until 2016 that I began exploring nature and taking up hiking. I have always been a writer and I have combined that with my newfound love of nature. From time to time I will be sharing our experiences with you.
