I have never created a video like this before. I usually only take pictures so it was a learning process. I have been researching my ancestry and I chose to go to the Goodyear Farms Historic Cemetery where a lot of my family members are buried. I took photos of some of my family and laid them out on a trail which I started to walk on and filmed myself. My thoughts were that I am taking my place rising and walking on my own path cut from the sacrifices and and work and ashes from my ancestors. The last part of the video is a collage on the dirt ground with my hand covering the pictures saying ashes to ashes, to the Earth your body will go but the spirit will live forever and ascend. I enjoyed learning basic video editing and putting together the clips.
